Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MAIR Group to develop AED 200 million worth of projects on endowed land.
The initiative backs the ‘Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans’ campaign by generating sustainable returns to support the care and wellbeing of UAE orphans, according to a press release.
Awqaf Abu Dhabi will provide the endowed land, while MAIR Group’s real estate arm, Makani Real Estate, will manage the development, ensuring operational efficiency and stable returns.
Meanwhile, this partnership strengthens private-sector collaboration in transforming endowment assets into long-term social and economic resources.
Fahd Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of Awqaf Abu Dhabi, said: “This agreement represents an advanced model for leveraging endowment assets within a sustainable investment framework that enhances their efficiency and multiplies their social and economic impact.”
“Through these strategic partnerships with the private sector, we aim to transform endowment assets into sustainable development drivers capable of generating long-term returns that support priority social initiatives,” he added.
Al Qassim noted: “The development of projects on endowed land aligns with the Authority’s strategic direction to build a modern endowment ecosystem grounded in strong governance and institutional investment, ensuring the preservation and growth of assets while maximizing their impact across generations.”
For his part, Nehayan Hamad Alameri, the Managing Director and CEO of MAIR Group, emphasized the group’s commitment to delivering high-quality projects that provide both economic value and social impact, contributing to the sustainable growth of endowment assets.
The collaboration aligns with Awqaf Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy to modernize the endowment ecosystem, reinforce governance, and ensure long-term financial and social benefits for national initiatives.
In February 2026, MAIR Group launched the Makani Al Mizhar community center in Dubai, coinciding with the opening of an advanced ADCOOP retail store within the center.
